E....

I love to scrapbook and this is a page that I just finished. Had to share this page because of the pictures. Emerson is a blessing from God. He chose us to parent and love this little girl? Why us? What did we do to deserve such a wonderful child? I'm so happy he did.

Mother's Day 2011..KC Zoo

To a child's ear, 'mother' is magic in any language.

Finally....Our HIPPOS!
A mother understands what a child does not say.

Mother's hold their daughter's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.

Daddy and Emmi sharing a moment together watching the....Don't remember...

Rhino...All morning all Emerson couldn't stop talking about the hippos. We first came upon the rhino and forever this rhino will be called a hippo. Sorry rhino, you look too much like a hippo.

Nothing is more precious to me than this.

Baa..Baa..Mommy: Emerson, did you like the Zoo? Emerson: pat, pat, pat...
The best part of the entire zoo was the sheep. She "pat, pat" and tickled them. We couldn't get her to leave.

I think she is tickling the sheep.

The joys of being a Mom.

To me, mother's day wasn't a day for presents or fancy flowers it was a day to cherish this little girl. As a family, we decided to go to the KC Zoo. Jacob and I were talking as we were driving down the road. We both said, yes, it is a day to celebrate being a Mom, but what we wanted most for this day was to see our daughter happy. Emmi loves animals and knew the joy that this would bring her. She had an amazing time and you can see on our faces how much happiness she brings to us. Who couldn't love something so sweet?!?

Haiti 5K

Haiti 5k tshirt back and front.

Many people in this world today have the desire and want to help others. Most of our problem is we think about it but don't put our words to actions. That is not the case with my Dad. He has the vision of helping others and putting it to action. His goal is to feed 100 Haitians everyday for the rest of his life. Pretty amazing, huh? He just recently went to Haiti and came home with this idea. His plan is to assist Haitian families with expenses such as, fertilizer, compost, agricultural tech support, transportation, and salary neccessary to manage and maintain extension gardens. The gardens will support 5-7 family members. The estimated cost per garden per month is $60.

If you are interested in supporting, we are having our second annual Haiti 5k.

Discovering the world....

Nature fits all her children with something to do. -James Russell Lowell

Enjoying a beautiful day outside with her Momma! She is really enjoying our sidewalk and porch.

One day this week I had the fun opportunity to sub in PE. (Do you catch my sarcasm?) Anyway, I had an 1 1/2 lunch break so I came home to play with E. Her and I went outside to play and not minutes being outside I heard her yelling and looking down at the rocks. It came out something that sounded like bubbles. I couldn't figure it out....I knew she wasn't looking at bubbles. So..I walk over to check out the situation and this is what I find....

Baybug... Baybug...(a.k.a. Ladybug)

When I really think about what she said, I do know she was in fact saying ladybug. She wanted to tell her Momma what she had discovered. Poor baybug, didn't stand a chance. Truly wonderful the mind of a child.

If a child is to keep her inborn sense of wonder, she needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with her the joy, excitement, and the mystery of the world we live in. -Rachel Carson

Hi Momma! Whatcha got there? Let me see.
